Hey — it's Rames

We’re all makers of some kind. Some make food, others make websites. Isn’t that the essence of being human? That we create, we produce?

I identify as a Maker, even though most of what I make today is digital. When I think about my ideal life, it’s a mix of digital and analog making — something like websites in the morning, furniture in the afternoon.

So, I’m on a quest to include more [continue reading]

3 Tips

1/ Notion x Framer CMS Integration

You can now sync your Framer CMS collection with Notion!

Basically, you can now write and manage your blog posts (or any other CMS-type items) from Notion and get them published on your Framer website.

I'm not a Framer user. I've been on Webflow since I started making websites. But this new integration makes me super jealous.

P.S. It seems you can't sync it to an existing database, but need to create one from scratch for that project.

2/ Show Subitems on Board View

This is something that bothers me in Notion. When you have a database with subitems, they never appear when I add a board view. But guess what? There are two workarounds:

1/ Filtering: You can add an advanced filter that checks all the conditions of sub/parent-items visibility at once. It's time-consuming and quite cumbersome.

2/ Flattened list: Instead, you can just use the "flattened list" option in the subitems settings! It's way easier and nicer because it displays the related parent-item.

3/ Notion Digest Notifications

You may started to receive these emails from Notion. These emails contain a summary of recent updates and activities in your workspace. They're designed to keep you informed about what's happening in your Notion pages and databases without having to constantly check the app.

If you find these emails helpful, great! If not, you can always adjust your notification settings or turn them off completely in your Notion account preferences (Settings → My notifications → Email notifications → Workspace digest)

2 Resources

1/ Copy Template to Another Database

Ever wondered how to copy, move, or duplicate a database template to another database? Well, here's a short tutorial that helps you do that in seconds.

2/ Building Shared Dashboards

Another excellent video by Ben Borowski on how to build shared dashboards with projects and permissions in Notion. The video covers various aspects of creating a "Me-page" in shared Notion workspaces, including:

  • Creating a Teamspace

  • Starting the Me-page with Task Management

  • Adding Meeting Notes and Docs & Wiki sections

  • Setting up initial permissions

  • Designing the page, including using Midjourney for Notion covers

  • Implementing advanced permissions
