Hey — it's Rames

June 8th, 2021 — 1071 days or 153 weeks or 20.5 months or 2.93 years ago.

I sent my first ever newsletter to the world.

It must've reached ~20 people.

A few friends and family.

It was quite bad.

Its name was bad ("The 3C’s Newsletter — on Creativity, Consciousness & Curiosity")

Its design was bad.

Its content was meh.

But it was my first ever iteration of what is now a weekly habit.

Since that day, I've been in people's inboxes for 119 weeks.

66 issues of 3-2-1: Notion!

I made many mistakes along the way

• Sending my newsletter in both French and English when I had only 20 subscribers

• Sending test emails to my entire email list

• Leaking information (like a direct link to a paid product)

• Overpaying for newsletter tools because I misunderstood their pricing/subscriber rates

And as my user base grew, the stakes became higher than ever.

Even though everything about that first issue was flawed, it's the most important thing I've done.

Simply because I began, I started something.

I generated momentum for myself.

It became easier to keep going than to abandon this project.

And so many opportunities arose from it:

• Discussions with super interesting people

• Business partnerships with cool brands

• Learning how to write things that people enjoy

So, why all this rant?

3-2-1: Notion! has exceeded 10,000 subscribers 🤯

I never thought I'd be read by so many people.

And if all of this has taught me one thing, it would be this:

Get yourself out there! Share your work with the world. Become a magnet for other like-minded people.

I'd like to end with my favorite proverb, which I always keep in mind and which deeply resonates with my maker's mind ↓
