Hey — it's Rames

Last year, we spent about six months in Tamraght, Morocco. Our apartment had a balcony overlooking Banana Point, one of the best surf spots near Agadir.

So, we decided to learn how to surf! I had surfed a bit as a kid during holidays, but nothing serious. This time was different because… [continue reading]

3 Tips

1/ Notion Mail Is Getting Close

It seems like Notion and Notion Calendar are going to have a new friend soon. It was leaked on Reddit that Notion Mail can be accessed at mail.notion.so

The question is: will it be a Gmail wrapper, like Notion Calendar seems to work, or a fully built-in new app that's built on the back of their latest Skiff acquisition?

Release date might be announced at the Make With Notion event on October 24th.

2/ Attach Images to Notion AI

You can now send images and other types of files to Notion AI as input, as you would with other LLMs (Large Language Models) like ChatGPT, Claude, etc.

Notion AI is slowly catching up and becoming really usable ⚡️️

3/ Databases Now Load 15% Faster

That’s it.

Performance updates are not the sexiest, but man, they are the most needed.

2 Resources

1/ How to Create Recurring Tasks in Notion

I get this question a lot. It's actually quite simple, but many people don't know where to look. So, I've created a short blog post to help you:

  • Get familiar with the Repeat function, located in the database template settings

  • Customize different parameters in recurring tasks, including the frequency, days, start date, time, and timezone

  • Make the most out of Notion by integrating recurring tasks in your daily workflow

2/ Notion Helper

Thomas Frank just released a little library that's going to be quite helpful to Notion automation wizards.

It's a little library for writing Notion API requests with a lot less code.

Instead of building tons of nested objects and arrays, you can just chain methods to create blocks, properties, etc.

Instead of building tons of nested objects and arrays, you can just chain methods to create blocks, properties, etc.

The most interesting, IMO, is the createNotion() function, which lets you build page objects with much less code (the way Notion API handles that is very annoying).
