  • A Guide to Database Automations New Update

  • Meme of the Year

Hey — it's Rames

Yesterday, I built a bench hook for my wood-carving, inspired by Melanie Abrantes. It was a quick and easy build, but now woodworking is much nicer. Sometimes it’s the small things that make a big impact.

It’s the same with Notion — I have a few simple databases that I use all the time. Nothing fancy, but it just works.

What’s yours? 👀

3 Tips

1/ Database Automations Got an Update

Database automations received a long-awaited update! You can now get much more granular. Let me explain what has changed:

  1. You can specify whether the action should be triggered by all or any of the triggers.

  2. You can ‘filter’ the Text, Number, Person, Select, and Relation trigger properties (personal fav here ❤️‍🔥)

  3. Person, Relation & Multi-Select properties now have more actions (replace with, add, remove, toggle).

With this update, we’re getting closer than ever to fully automated Notion systems without having to leave the app. As an automation lover, this is one of my favorite updates I’ve seen this year ⚡️

2/ Preview Tabs on Desktop App

Just like how hovering over a page gives you a preview, desktop tabs also show a preview of the page content. I'm not a big fan of these previews, and unfortunately, there's no way (yet) to disable them.

3/ Links From Browser

2 Resources

1/ Notion Web Clipper & Save To Notion

Managing saved links across different platforms can quickly become chaotic. Notion offers a streamlined solution to keep everything organized in one place. I’ll guide you through:

  • Creating a content database

  • Using the Notion Web Clipper to easily save and categorize your links

  • Using Save to Notion to go even further

Explore how Notion can help simplify your digital organization.

2/ Closer to Pure Notion Automation

If you want more details on the database automations update, I’ll let you check this detailed guide from Ben Borowski at Notion Mastery. He explains how to use them and provides examples on all three features I mentioned earlier.

Happy automating!
